Purple Dress

Paul Inderrieden

I felt you in your dress;

Lavender and silk under my touch,

Your taut body swaying

To the songs of a mediocre DJ.

We were desperate to leave as the night

Was still young.

You kissed me as we drove

To the colorless motel room.

Desperate to make love

Behind our parents backs.

Your dress came off quickly,

And I tied you up

With my suspenders,

Just as you wanted.

Harmony and melody

Collided with screams and sighs.

Were soon washed

Down a shower drain.
